DiCoMI: developing an innovative production system for composite material components

6 March 2018

Intelligentsia Consultants are thrilled to announce the launch last week of the 1.4 million euro DiCoMI project funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020 programme for research and innovation. DiCoMI aims to develop a new production system for composite material components for the aerospace and automotive sectors. Coordinated by Loughborough University, the four-year project will draw upon advanced skills and know-how in directional fibre-reinforced polymers, manufacturing techniques and manufacturing systems design.

The outcome will be an innovative hybrid manufacturing system capable of producing composite parts with increased accuracy, reduced cost and enhanced functionality.

Intelligentsia Consultants led the preparation of the DiCoMI project proposal and will now support the project’s management, training and dissemination activities. We are proud to be a part of this multidisciplinary, international consortium involving 16 partners from the UK, Luxembourg, Germany, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine and Turkey as well as South Africa, New Zealand and Egypt.
