DRIVEN project: Data-Driven Simulation at the University of Luxembourg

22 October 2018

Intelligentsia Consultants has clients all over Europe and worldwide, but we are always pleased to work locally in Luxembourg. The University of Luxembourg is a real talent-pool with skilled and groundbreaking researchers that push back the state-of-the-art in various scientific domains.

One of the most successful researchers from the Faculty of Science, Technology and Communication at the University of Luxembourg is Prof. Stéphane Bordas, who is an eminent scientist in Computational Mechanics. With the support of Intelligentsia, Prof. Bordas recently won the Horizon 2020 DRIVEN project aiming at increasing the scientific excellence and innovation capacity in Data-Driven Simulation of the University of Luxembourg.

The DRIVEN project started in October 2018 and will end in September 2021 for an overall budget of one million euros. The University of Luxembourg will collaborate with the top international research groups from the Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique (France), the University of Limerick (Ireland) and the University of Texas at Austin (USA). The partners will focus on three research topics of high interest:

  • Mathematical foundations for data-driven simulations,
  • Data-driven simulations for computer-assisted therapy,
  • Data-driven simulations for functional composite materials.

During the project, Intelligentsia will support the University of Luxembourg and its twinning the partners to organise short term staff exchanges, training workshops, summer schools and an international conference. In addition to supporting the project’s promotion and dissemination activities, Intelligentsia will provide training workshops on technology-transfer and innovation management.
